HOW TO INSTALL SPLIT RAIL FENCE 2 RAIL 3 OR 4

Installing split rail fence is one of the easiest fences to install
- The Fence rails measure 11' long and over lap into post so figure at 10' to 10' 6'' on footage calculations.
- The type of post used: Lines - Ends - Corners ( example a 100 foot line would take 9 line.
- Rails can be cut on jobsite only need a chainsaw with sharp blade ( see instructional video ) on split rail site. watch video
- Install so bottom rail 16 to 20'' off ground.( CAN ADJUST IF WOULD LIKE MOWER TO PASS UNDER FENCE WHEN CUTTING ADJUST ACCORDINGLY )
- Split Rails treated have a rough sawn look diamond shaped v to a rounded side that is normally turned outward.
- After string line in place begin to lay rails with a 3'' to 4'' overlap and end or corner ,be sure lap to accept post, ( SEE VIDEO )
- 1 rail down out side string line, then the second overlap then 3 and 4.Then use hand diggers TO PLUG WHERE HOLE TO BE DUG
- Pull string back dig the 6 holes marked with diggers or power unit, then stop fill in rails and post starting at end post broken up dirt allowing to fall to bottom tamp once again a good bottom tamp makes all difference. (SUGUEST NOT DIGGING MORE THEN N5 DUE TO INCH HERE AND THERE WILL BE HAND DIGGING MORE THEN NEEDED.)
- Split rail is generally not cemented it is done by breaking up dirt and back filling post key is to tamp bottom tight before get to full fill tamp fill tamp till tight level close on height extra dirt mound around base of post, rain mother nature do rest.
- Gates if needed 4' gate set post at 4' inside to inside . Keep in mind hardware will make pass thru less then 4'
